What is openPASS?
openPASS is a unique application that provides verified care receivers, family members and friends with inclusive access to real-time care plans and records in The PASSsystem, the industry standard care management and monitoring platform.
Is my care provider set up for openPASS?
Your care provider must be using The PASSsystem and be set up for openPASS to get access.
If they are, you will see a unique ID number on the front page of the care receiver’s care file, which is printed in the home (see below).
It’s a simple way to stay informed and have peace of mind, knowing your loved one is well cared for.
If this is not present, fill in this form and we will reach out to them directly to see if they would like to start using The PASSsystem.
Is openPASS secure?
When the care provider receives a request for 24/7 access, they will check with the care receiver that they know who you are. They will then set up a secret question and answer, which you will need to know the answer to when completing access.
Is openPASS available on mobile or tablet?
You can use openPASS on mobile and tablet to get 30 minutes access to care notes from a homecare provider when you are in the care receiver’s home by following the steps here.
If you are set up for 24/7 access to openPASS for a care receiver in homecare, you can also view this through the iOS or Android apps.
openPASS is available to use on your tablet. To see it in the Apple App Store, you need to ensure you are viewing ‘apps for iPad’ rather than ‘apps for iPhone’, then search for openPASS.
The mobile apps are not currently set up to work for residential care.
What is the difference between the mobile app and web version?
The openPASS mobile apps and web version are slightly different. Here is a summary of what is available for each platform:
